Boateng presented his first catwalk show during Paris Fashion Week in , the first tailor to ever show there. With the show a success, Boateng was encouraged by Tommy Nutter to open his first boutique on Saville Row in Boateng offered a modern take on menswear design and tailoring and, in , Boateng moved his whole business to Savile Row.

Two fragrances came together and could either be worn separately or layered upon each other, to offer a bespoke style scent. Three years later a new flagship store and headquarters were launched in another location on Savile Row. Boateng left Givenchy in Having reinterpreted the British art of bespoke tailoring, Ozwald Boateng is known to combine excellence and luxury with a modern and fresh design philosophy.

Self-taught, Boateng began tailoring at the age of 16 and in became the first Savile Row tailor to show during the International Menswear Collections in Paris. In he was appointed Creative Director of Menswear at Givenchy, further securing his dominant position on the world fashion stage. He has successfully united the skills of British bespoke tailoring with his own distinctive approach to menswear design and forged a new appreciation of Savile Row.

Boateng's attention to detail and finish are most clearly demonstrated in his superb tailoring, for which he has developed a stellar clientele, amongst them Jude Law, Jamie Foxx, Will Smith and Daniel Day Lewis.

English fashion designer of Ghanaian descent, Ozwald Boateng, was born on February 28, The fashion designer has acquired the likes and admiration of many for his signature twist on classic tailoring and bespoke style.

He draws inspiration from the immaculate suits that his father wore when he was young. Since childhood, his love for fashion has been quite apparent from the fact that he was only fourteen when he found himself a summer job of sewing linings into suits. Boateng was a student of computer science at Southgate College when he was introduced to cutting and designing by his then girlfriend at the age of sixteen. Soon, his clothes were seen on the racks of famous menswear store, Covent Garden.
