Loose leaf tea what is

When the tea is done steeping for the specified time, simply remove the infuser and set it aside for a second steeping of tea. Did you know that certain teas you can re-steep two or more times?

A teapot or tea mug is what you place the infuser in to brew tea. Some tea mugs and glass tumblers have tea infusers that come with it. You will need a tea kettle to boil water. Traditional stovetop kettles are useful. Electric kettles boil water faster and more efficiently. Even a simple saucepan will work in a pinch. Now all you need is some nice organic loose leaf tea. You can read this article to learn why we recommend organic tea. Follow brewing instructions using our nifty brewing chart.

While waiting for water to boil, add the appropriate amount of loose leaf tea to your tea infuser. Place the tea infuser inside your teapot or mug. Tip: Double the amount of tea you use when making iced tea. When the water reaches the desired temperature, pour it over the tea infuser into your mug or teapot. This will allow the water to circulate through the leaves.

Each steeping will yield a slightly lighter flavor than the previous. We love our Teatulia whole leaf teas so much that we made them even more convenient for you to enjoy by packaging them in corn silk pyramid tea bags. Our pyramid tea bags contain the exact same tea you'll find in loose leaf! The bags fit perfectly into a single teacup and they are tall and roomy, giving tea leaves plenty of space to move around within the bag and interact with the hot water for full flavor extraction.

They can also be steeped multiple times, so you can get several cups of tea out of one pyramid tea bag just like you would with loose leaf tea. And each of our pyramid tea bags are filled with 2 grams of whole leaf tea…just enough for brewing the perfect 8-ounce cup. Nifty, huh? Each of the following come in 1-ounce portion packs to brew 1 gallon of iced tea at a time. Your summer picnics just got a whole lot more refreshing!

For a glass of Teatulia tea on ice, we recommend steeping twice as much tea as you would for a cup of hot tea. Next, pour the strong brew over a large glass full of ice to yield about 16 ounces of perfectly brewed iced tea. Learn more about how to brew tea.

What is Green Tea? What is Jasmine Tea? What is White Tea? Loose leaf tea is better for you than bagged tea. Loose leaf tea utilizes whole tea leaves, fruits, herbs and spices allowing the full flavor and health benefits of each ingredient to steep into your cup. For bagged tea, the tea leaves and ingredients have to be chopped into tiny pieces in order to fit into a small tea bag.

Whenever bagged tea is chopped up finely like that, it gives the leaf more surface area. And with that surface area comes more space for the health benefits and flavor to be released immediately into the air. Loose leaf tea, on the other hand, is not chopped up like that. It stays whole and therefore holds onto all of the flavor and health benefits until it unfurls and releases it into your cup.

Not only do you get stronger flavor and more natural health benefits with loose leaf tea, but you also eliminate the waste of a tea bag, string, staple, etc making loose leaf tea better for you and for the environment.
