Poe how does shock work

My incomplete concepts may add to your 'whole truth', accept it or think about it. A long long time ago, the answer was no. This was because of some fiddly diddly behind the scenes carp where Damage over Time was not Damage, so Shock only boosted Hit damage. We're in the modern age now though. Damage over Time won its civil rights movement and generic damage modifiers apply to DoT like others. Shock provides generic damage modifier. EDIT: this post has been time travel fixed.

Need game info? Posted by adghar on Feb 17, , AM. What is your reasoning for even considering that it shouldnt? Old version of this post with probably-wrong information. I think I misread the thread title. Being Shocked will increase the damage that enemy entities' Righteous Fire deals.

Being Shocked will not increase the damage that the Shocked entity's Righteous Fire deals. EDIT3: I actually am probably wrong even about this. Ignore me within this thread. I was gonna ask that about Shock duration. So Shock duration literally lowers the HP threshold to Shock bosses? Might buy a pair, if it works that way, that might make boss shocking a lot easier.

Might look into many other sources of big Shock duration, too! Any recommendations? Also, while we're here I guess, a final multiplicative layer in the formula? Aaaaaaaaand another question, actually Generally speaking, would you say Conductivity or Assassin's Mark is a better curse for lightning users using Elemental Overload?

Also, for clarification However, the values they give seem totally off to me. They give min as 0. To me, it would make sense if min changed to 0. So could someone please explain how the math actually works out?

This means that increases to the effect of shock effectively reduce the amount of damage needed to apply both a minimum and a maximum shock. Posted by stebobibo7 on Jun 26, , PM. Quote this Post. Shock and Chill are the two most useless mechanics for players.

From the same chart, you could see that you must remove Due to the diminishing nature in shock formula, you need way even more damage from that point onwards to get better shock effectiveness. Fortunately there is a more practical alternative. Instead of getting more damage, you get percent increase of shock effectiveness, either from items or passives.

Shock mechanics have been revised several times. Am I missing something with my thought process? Is the shock caused by Shared Suffering not considered a "Shock you cause"? Shared Suffering does not transfer ailments from you to enemies.

It means that : a If you have a specific ailment, all your hit damage is counted towards causing that ailment on-hit. So assuming you do enough total damage to inflict shock, you'll shock the enemy, which because of reflection also shocks you again you have two shocks now. Then all shocks are removed from you. Originally posted by Megadarth. I mean does the damage bonus apply to hits which shock the enemy and me? If I am an Elementalist and use a skill with lets say 98 cold, 1 fire and 1 lightning damage, crit and apply a shock and an ignite on myself due to Eye of Innocence, do I need to hit a second time or does all that damage apply all those ailments?
