WhiteWater World boasts some of the hottest waterslides on the planet including one of only two LIM powered rocket coasters in the world and the only eight-lane Octopus Racer in existence. If that's not your thing then splash and play in Wiggle Bay or chill out in a tube at the Cave of Waves. The World Pass is the one ticket you need to get you into the best theme parks in one great location!
Buy a World Pass here. Hours may be extended during school holidays. Hours extended during summer. Dreamworld is located at the northern end of the Gold Coast, on the Pacific Highway M1 Coomera, 17 kilometres 20 minutes north of Surfers Paradise and 48 kilometres 40 minutes south of Brisbane. There are many transport options to Dreamworld, including bus, coach, rail, car and helicopter transfers. What kind of theme park would it be if it didn't cater to the kids? Dreamworld is suitable for children of all ages, with all appropriate facilities including parent rooms, shaded eating and play areas and strollers for hire.
Plus there's Wiggles World and a stack of family friendly rides. There are height restrictions on major thrill rides. Children under one year are not permitted on any rides. Children under four years must be accompanied by an adult on all suitable rides. Both Sea World and Movie World have shows running all the time which when they are on, seem to leave small lines for the rides.
I think Dreamworld should try putting on some more shows to help with their lengthy lines. The staff seemed to hate their jobs and looked bored. Was rudely treated at one of the food outlets when I'd already cued in line for 15 mins to buy an over priced hot dog. Got to front of cue and was told by emlpoyee "Can youse join the other cue, this registers packed up" Talk about steam coming out of my ears. There was an hour cue for the "Cyclone" roller coaster. We waited in this rotunda which was filthy.
After waiting an hour, the ride itself was very ho hum. They have a new ride called "The Claw" which hadn't opened yet but they were testing it so we saw it running. It looked ok but you wouldn't want to cue an hour for it.
My last visit to Dreamworld was about 10 years ago. Then it had a distinctive Australian flavour to it. They had an Australian animal show with animatronic kangaroos, cockatoo's and the like - gone. The parks mascot was Kenny Koala who drove around in a van and entertained the kids - gone. Considering the 3 main theme parks on the Gold Coast Sea World, Movie World and Dreamworld all charge the same amount to get in - at least the other 2 seemed to have put some money back into their parks.
Dreamworld has sadly fallen way behind the other 2 in terms of park upkeep and well thought out entertainment areas, rides and attractions. If your planning a trip to the Gold Coast and are thinking of going to the theme parks, take my advice and definatley do Sea World, Movie World and even Wet n' Wild. Use the money you would have spent going to Dreamworld and hire a car and do a day trip to say the Sunshine Coast, Noosa or down towards Coollangatta or even Byron Bay.
Money much better spent. Soheery Seoul, South Korea 1 contribution. Horrible Service and attitude by Park Security. My friend and I boarded a ride called The Claw and placed our bag on the shelves next to the ride. After the ride, my bag was gone.
I tried to look for it but it was nowhere in sight. I immediately notified the employees who were managing the ride who in turn contacted the Park Security.
An employee named "Matt" came to the ride and asked for a description of my bag and took down my particulars. After which, I made a police report using their phone.
I requested for him to check the CCTV but he gave me an irritated look. After pleading with him, he eventually went to "check" the footage but told me the results were inconclusive. I was furious and went back to the ride to request to check the cameras. However, I was directed back to the guest service centre and got shouted at by the supervisor claiming they have done everything that they could and I was not allowed to investigate any further.
All in all a horrible experience that I will remember for many years to come. No discounts offered. The staff are very pleasant but everything else is a shambles. Handed a park map on entry, no word about ride closures, no signs, everything seems fine..
Next ride: malfunction while waiting in queue, told to come back later. Told to stay seated in log and wait. Sad lonely animals in the zoo section, poor dingo looked bored out of his brain. At one point we walked right over to the closed buzz saw and realised we were in a no-access construction zone, but the gate had been left right open! How easy for a child to run in here, the gate to close behind them and parents have no clue where they had gone.
Even the ride did not have a closed gate on it. Food outlets closed at 3pm despite the park staying open til 5pm which is bizarre to me. A sunny Sunday and the place was empty. It either needs to shut or have a lot of money thrown at it because right now, basically, it sucks. Expensive with limited rides and very short opening hours. It is expensive to get in and the the park closes at 5!! Not impressed. The rides are limited and was not fully opened during the period we were there.
Berkley M 1 contribution. This joint had half its rides closed and it still cost us bucks to get in. All rides that were open were ordinary at best. Food there is another 50 bucks for a piece of fish and a dog OMG!
I will never go again and warn others to stay away from this place A crap park embarrassed its in australia. Fallburys 1 contribution.
My 3yr old is told she can't ride nearly every ride and while I understand that's for safety why charge me the same as my 7 year old if she can't use the park. They have filled up an amusement park with over prices food and merchandise shops. Only when we wanted to go to the water park did we get told this closes at 3pm while the rest of the park closes at 5pm. To top off the day they close the rides 10 min early because they have a function tonight.
Oh and please explain that to a 5 year old who wants one more ride. Well done Dreamworld you have managed to remove the fun of a fun place. Sansha J Melbourne, Australia 42 contributions. My plus size experience. I love dreamworld to death and have been coming here obsessively since I was a young thing. Now I'm a big mum of two, I still enjoy my visits but wanted to share my experience with those who might want to know what thrills can be had in a larger body.
For reference I'm about Aussie size 24ish. I can't fit on the Claw and althought they can squish me into Madagascar, I'm pushing the limits and it depends on how much the operator is willing to squash me. I also find I need a bit of squishing sometimes on Pandamonium to get the harness to click into place. On the Tower of Terror, I need to ask to sit at the front as there is something about those seats that accomodates my size better.
Children under 3 years are free to enter and Dreamworld's Parent Swap program allows parents to have a go on the rides while another family watches the kids. As the biggest theme park in Australia, there really is something for everyone at Dreamworld. It has over 40 different rides including five rollercoasters, a place called Corroboree where you can celebrate Australian history, Tiger Island where you can learn all about fearsome wildlife and WhiteWater World where you can splash around.
If you are a thrill-seeker, we recommend the Sky Voyager, the Claw, our newest WhiteWater World slides Fully 6 and the Giant Drop the tallest free-falling ride in the world.
Just make sure to empty your pockets before and don't have a big meal until after! There are plenty of eateries with all the usual foods available: pizza, burgers, noodles, buffet and more. No food or beverages may be brought into the park. Smoking is permitted in designated areas only.
Choose from heart pumping rollercoasters to fun slides and more. Note: Ride restrictions and operating hours apply. Please refer to the ride information to learn more. Plan your day and find your favourite rides with the Dreamworld Park Map. Plus, with a 3 Day Pass, you can also enjoy unlimited entry to WhiteWater World during seasonal operations. The operation of some attractions may be affected by adverse weather conditions or maintenance activity.
Operating hours are subject to change without notice pending weather conditions. By car : The shortest drive from Sydney is about km. You can also plan your route using the mynrma app to get cheap fuel and food along the way.
